If only it were! Output quality would be 1/n channels but for two reasons:
1) The path of least resistance - if there are more channels its easier to get 
something shown so the amount of quality is reduced overall - people dont 
have to work so hard to create something showable so they dont.
2) The management overhead increases exponentially with the number of 
channels. Once you have more than two or three channels management cost more 
than programming thus reducing the quality available further as the creative 
parts of the system are reduced to tears rather than production.
