[LUG] CnM MiniBook experience ?

Has anyone on this group had first hand experience with a CnM MiniBook
netbooks ?

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=225532&DOY=24m1

The reason I'm asking is that I am looking for a cheap workable "off the
shelf" computing solution preferably with a solar panel option for power
source / charging as the violent mains power fluctuations (when they
have it in the first place) wreaks havoc with any mains based computer /
laptop / printer hardware.... fried HDD, USB Pens, Memory, Processors as
well as fried chips ....... ;-)

The only thing that puts me off is the vip office (what ever that is) I
would have been much happier to have seen OpenOffice but I guess you
can't have everything, it looks like the OS is eprom based and room
looks limited so probably getting OO.org on there (even if I could
compile it for the right MIPS chipset) is off the menu.

Judging from CnM's sight they are supporting a range of software patches
including support for 3G wireless modems which looks promising as an
internet access solution once Cameroon get HSDPA.

Tom.
