Ah, and Debian comes to the rescue again. Having tried multiple times 
and come a-cropper with the same bloody error, despite having followed 
their installation documentation to the letter, I check and Roundcube is 
in Debian Lenny (and so is available to Etch/Stable users via 
backports.org).
