Anyway Ubuntu have offered "server" disk with a text based install. Definitly with both "Gutsy" and "Hardy". > 3. (Including in cases where there is a fairly comprehensive and specific error message being produced. But it's apparently too much trouble for some people to even read the lable giving the computer's unique name.) > statement. Won't load from what? At what stage? All that is apparent from the original poster is that they have a board which can take up to two P3 CPUs, up to four sticks of SDRAM, has two 64 bit PCI slots, two PATA ports and optionally two channel SCSI. >> ...I didn't think I did but why am I >> having these problems? > > Nobody can tell you because you didn't give a useful description of the > problem(s). There are people for whom providing even 4 lines would be a big suprise. "My computer isn't working" appears to be some people's limit. Even when they are using some obscure program and a twenty step process does something they don't think it should around step sixteen. (Sometimes even after finding out what the program and the twenty steps are it still isn't clear if there's actually anything wrong with the program either...) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFI/jgPsoRLMhsZpFcRAmS0AJ9TJeIveSY1iMgufzsX5BpxNj66ygCdGDX1 b2jOvmwA7sC7gNihZ77vWF4= =hG7v -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
