Yup, that's what the second link is about. They were very apologetic and released a fully fixed BIOS. Incidentally, the guy who exposed the whole thing got banned from the Ubuntu forums. I'm not sure who was in the right, however a moderator claimed that he'd made a huge number of alternate accounts, so they banned him. (That was the only infraction, he didn't use the other accounts for anything, there were just several accounts that according to the moderator, had the same IP.)
