GanttProject is also good http://ganttproject.biz/

Written in Java, so if you have clients using windoze, they can run the same software.

It also has a resources view.

Basecamp, ActiveCollab, ActiveCollabBC (fork of active collab based on
Basecamp), ProjectPier (another activecollab fork).

You can probably hack timelines, and extra stuff into ActiveCollab -
shouldn't be too hard to customise if you're familiar with php.
