Hi all, Recently my home server (Debian stable; file-, web- and mail-server) had 'issues' which it turns out was due to a failing PSU... kept overheating due to a dead fan and it would powercycle ever few minutes. Needless to say this had a somewhat detrimental effect on the filesystem(s). Performed a motherboardectomy and transplant and now have a server up and running again quite nicely, bar for one ickle thing... MySQL. The init script merely fails with "Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed!". I have to admit that I know almost nothing about MySQL so I have no idea where to start the troubleshooting process. Any pointers (bar RTFM) would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
