When he got it, the machine hadn't even been unpacked yet.  When I saw 
it, it was turned on for the third time - ever.

It took 4 minutes to load.

He opened the Control Panel.  It took 3 minutes from clicking the mouse 
until Control Panel was usable!

This was a 2ghz machine with 1Gb RAM.  Allegedly within Vista's 
specification.  Like hell it is.... I'll have my head replaced with a 
carrot before Vista ever goes on my computers!
