Face it if it is installed on your local machine, it is probably trivial
to circumvent, on the other hand getting caught probably involves a few
more months inside.

It isn't just how difficult to do, but the likely consequences.

I'm surprised that the monitoring isn't rather more vendor neutral,
either a choke point firewall, or video tape, or some such. I suspect
the court will get it's ear bashed by relevant commercial groups as well.

He isn't a pirate, nothing about the high seas, or parrots, mentioned.
