Whilst it is true that there is less talk about the minutiae of installing GNU/Linux than in former years that only reflects improvements in Live CDs and installers in general, along with the ready availability of install images via cover discs etc. That is good news and does match with the article. There's always been threads on M$ and other non-Linux stuff but the archive reflects the true nature of the discussions - even if the talk is not primarily of kernels and low-level hardware issues, it is all related to free software. In many ways, we've become much more of a GNU user group than a Linux user group because the problems and issues are most commonly with the free software modelled on the GNU tools rather than specific to kernels or kernel drivers. So, no, I don't think the article reflects this group. How many meetings have we had where no-one at the meeting had a laptop or other device running GNU/Linux? A healthy group does include discussions of real life as well as geek life. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.data-freedom.org/ http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/ http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/
