Agreed - it does look like the connection is being dropped because of 
authentication issues. The line Encryption Key off  is suggesting that no 
encryption is set for the card and, if the router does use it, the connection 
will drop out.
Note that wpa, whilst much more secure than wep, is often problematic (at 
least at first) in Linux. But we can work around that if it proves to be the 
issue.
