Interesting - my wife has a HP Pavillion which developed issues. Suddenly
refused to work on battery, and the warning light flashed all the time.
Charging it made no difference - seems the battery simply died.
Not the first time I have seen laptop batteries simply die without any
indication of deterioration.
Replacement batteries are quite pricey for all laptops - which, in this day
of "environmental concerns" is a poor way to keep older hardware running.
Same applies to mobile phones - it is almost as cheap to buy a new one than
replace the battery, especially when you consider the better features you
will get on the new model.
Although still using the laptop (with battery removed altogether), she has
resorted to masking the warning lights as they were very distracting.
