Can you clarify - is this what used to be called PCMCIA or is it USB or
is internal?

My only machine that needs wireless is the iBook. Typical of laptops,
the internal space for a wireless card is highly customised and only
fits Apple's own cards and being Apple, it has no PCMCIA slots of any
kind on the outside of the casing.
