Hi Thanks for the replys, I fdiske'd a and it only had two partitions. So I tried Debian and removed all partitions and started again. Debian worked, but I had tried others which failed. One thing I did discover is that I have no rescue disk as I thought that the set up disk would do the trick. Back to school I am afraid.
