Interesting read...

I think I agree with nearly all of what is said and I think the current thread running about Linux in schools needs to take note about the resistance to moving after already having spent money on proprietary applications and the need for good support options.

And, unless I mis-read the article, I liked the idea about the "nation-wide" lug to provide support for businesses etc using Linux; maybe something similar to Yahoo Answers would be good? But perhaps with registered "experts" (LPI etc) to provide the answers, paid per response they give? I know it's just a crazy idea, but it could possibly work - could stick to the traditional web 2.0 business model of advertising to fund it!

Looks interesting.  Haven't had chance to read the attached documents
yet.  I do agree with what it says about support and a central
helpdesk.  For a big company to switch then something like this would be
ideal.  For individual smaller companies though simply having a local
Linux expert or two (or a small specialist Linux support company to
hand) would help.
