Re: [LUG] Writing HTML

Writing HTML is a strange one. If I could have a wish come true it would be for an floss editor like FrontPage without the attitude problem!
The best way I have found so far is to use amaya  as the editor - its sh*t but its stops you being lazy and is at least standards compliant, don't do anything too flash and then use a firefox DEVELOPMENT install. - download an install package and when offered the options put in the development version This gives you a whole bunch of useful tools - including live editing of your css (don't forget to cut and paste it!!). Put in the TIDY extension to do error checking. And try and work out how to run IE under Linux/WINE or have a copy of widows with it so you can see how it looks 'in the real world'.
One thing I love is the fckeditor  which is the bollox and makes you realise why Office of any form is a waste of time and money.
You can of course cut and paste from the online demo! I believe its used as part of the coyahoga CMS system but I haven't had time to try that out.
The farmer.
