All I can say is Debian bug#323090.

;-)

Chuck a *large* project at KDevelop (especially in C not C++) and watch
it cry.

Anjuta is my favourite. Simple, clean, doesn't get in the way and
doesn't crowd the editor with unwanted toolbars. (Yes KD can shrink the
toolbars but they still completely encircle the editor window
