Hi, ( Says he as he delurks ) Here is a snip of some email I have been having with an NHS colleauge here in Cornwall. ANy thoughts? The link in question is http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/28/egu_oss_policy_v2/ ,------[ I said :: ] | I took the government stance to be that projects de novo publicly | funded had to be licenced in such a way that control of the | source would be available to the commissioners of that software | (not necessarily in a true GPL fashion per se ). ie the NHS | (/users where necessary) would be able to see the source of the | software that it had purchased / commissioned. Do we (as in the | NHS) therefore have a right to see how the thing works underneath? `------ ,------[ reply :: ] | Even documents describing the product are branded "Commercial in | confidence" `------ -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
