command line


scanimage -L                (yes capital L)

should show up similar to;

neil@xxxxx ~ $ scanimage -L
device `hpoj:mlc:par:OfficeJet_G85' is a Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet G85 \
multi-function peripheral
