Re: [LUG] Help:Script to backup /home to DVD

Some background: We have three large projects containing artwork and text which have steadily grown in size. It's become a real chore to do a daily backup with CD-RWs. Shoveling in CDs is not our idea of time well spent. (While I'm away from home my wife has to do the backup. Nuff said!!)

For what it's worth. I just use K3B for ad-hoc DVD burns. Just right click on the directory and choose "Make data CD with K3B" from the actions menu. Put a DVD+RW in and click Burn. Job done. You only have to format the DVD+RW once then you just burn over the top.

I know it's not a script but if you plan on kicking backup off manually it is just as easy for a single directory.

Cheers,

Pete
