On the one hand very welcome, on the other haven't they already paid to put Microsoft on those desktops.
I'm not sure if they actually have the machines it will be on, buying 5000 machines with no Windows tax on them should generate a little bit of change, although if MS have managed to tie the OEM suppliers down the change may go elsewhere.
The NHSIA's days are now numbered.
And the number has been announced and is not a large one, although I forget it at this moment. Remember the NHSIA was created to emasculate the IMG - a strong central control and planning group for IT in the NHS. It remained the same people in teh same desks, mostly, although I gather the NPfIT is going to look more commercial - expensive central offices, relocation of seniors etc etc. -- Adrian Midgley Open Source software is better GP, Exeter http://www.defoam.net/ -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
