Re: [LUG] Kylix vs Delphi

Paul

I have a copy of Kylix, which I have downloaded, what is the difference
in
terms of the language between this and delphi

The language syntax is exactly the same between the two. The IDE look and
feel is the same too.

The difference will be in your programming style (which will also depend
on whether your developing cross-platform apps or not) as you'll need to
take account of basic stuff like directory paths handling etc. Delphi 7 &
Kylix are quite good at flagging such issues at compilation time so you
shouldn't get yourself too twisted up.

Almost all the Delphi books I've come across have been Windows based with
a possible cursory glance at Kylix. A quick search on Amazon should
(dis)prove that theory.
