Hi Simon, Thanks for the reply. NFS is what I thought it would be, but I just wanted to check :) As for the trackpad I've currently got the XF86Config-4 with Protocol: "IMPS/2" Device: "/dev/psaux" Originally the device was "/dev/mouse" but performance is the same either way, IOW none. There is something on this page: http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/qsynaptics saying it does not work with a 2.6 kernel, and suggesting adding nodes due to a possible incomplete /dev directory. It says to look at proc/bus/input/devices to work out how many nodes I need. Unfortunately I understand the words but the sentences escape me. Could you (or anyone) put that into English for me please? Thanks! Kind regards, Julian On Fri, 2004-06-11 at 18:38, Simon Waters wrote:

Sure you can probably load up the specialist synaptic drivers and the like but start by treating it as a PS/2 mouse. You really shouldn't have to rebuild a kernel to get a PS2 driver. You sure it wasn't just a module that was missing? 2.6 usually uses a module for PS/2 support. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Using GnuPG with Debian - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFAyjRkGFXfHI9FVgYRAl/lAKC/wi2O1fc6yh38BXPhGt3lWSwp+ACfc4hV qvdKKTKbp/5Lg04rk1gvrGs= =Z2jA -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
