Re: [LUG] Three Questions :)

Sorry, I should have been more explicit.

The network is fine, that side of things works OK. The Origo BRP1400 is
a 4 port 10/100 Broadband router with built in USB Print Server (it's
the one Ebuyer sell as their own brand). The latter is the problem. It
works (predictably) OK in Windows as there is installation software
provided on CD. However it does not work in Linux.

What I need to know is if anyone knows how to to get a USB Print Server
working in Linux.

My old router (SMC 7004BR) used a standard Centronics port for printing,
so I used lpd://192.168.123.254/lp in CUPS and that worked perfectly.

I did try simply changing the IP address to that of the new router,
192.168.1.0, but that did not want to play.

Kind regards,

Julian

Not sure why it is naughty!

Also not sure what you are trying to configure? Printer port or
network.

I would have thought you should be able to configure it using a windows
PC then just use linux, of course the router could download config off
the PC in which case you would need to work that out.

Worst case is that it is like a winmodem and needs windows OS to do
work for it.

How does it plug in? What sort of connectors are there on it?
