[LUG] How to set up wi-fi card?

I think I've managed to succeed with the "difficult" bit of hacking the
open-source Amtel driver to work with a BT Voyager 1010 USB wi-fi device
- but I'm struggling with the easy bit of actually setting up the
interface! :-(

So, presuming that the device is working correctly (which the system
logs suggests), what magic commands to I type in order to get it to talk
to the Access Point? I think the AP is acting as a DHCP server, and I
know the channel and ESSID.

I would have thought that I should find some straightforward
instructions for this quite quickly, but my Googling has been largely
fruitless :-(

Cheers,

Jon
