Can you let me know how you find KDE 3.2 ?

I've been watching and waiting and considering an
upgrade but after reading the "May" edition of Linux
Magazine I had decided against it.

They give 3.2 a real slating:

X server freezing;
programs crashing;
bugs with kmail, kbear, korganiser;
kwallet unusable,
why are KDE "going for the stable release";
"steer clear of KDE 3.2 for the time being";
and so on . . .

Is it really that bad ?

No.

Nowhere near.

X server problems may be down to the laptop battery daemon - that's what froze
my laptop - but those had been occurring with that laptop ever since KDE2!
(More likely to be a dodgy battery than a fault in KDE)

KMail 1.6 doesn't have bugs, KMail 1.5 DOES. They installed the wrong version.
KMail 1.5 doesn't upgrade nicely if you have an existing and complex
configuration. I filed a bug report and got a nice reply that I should
upgrade to 1.6 - that's what brings in Kontact.
KOrganizer is rock solid. It's the most stable program I know. (And I put it
through quite a test most days.)
KWallet is FINE. I use it all the time.
Never used kbear.

Maybe that's just Debian.

:-)
