OK.. "uname -r" will give the kernel version

OpenOffice 1.1 does not need up update libc or the kernel.. if you go to
rpm.pbone.net you can find RPM's for OpenOffice.org1.1 for redhat 9.0

There is one depedancy however... libart, but thats only small...
