I think the problem is at my end. Once a dial-up connection has been estabilshed and there is an idle moment Kinternet shows a short burst of traffic. After that I can no longer access Google. I made a dial-up connection, waited for the activity to occur and then dropped the connection.. The messages log show the following activity which mostly concerns SuSEFirewall. To my untutored eye it looks as if some of my connections to the ISP are being dropped. I remember that SuSE recently updated their firewall and I suspect some of the rules have been changed. But it's all a bit over my head. Any one willing to help me sort it out? Keith -- A Linux system.
