there has been a court case recently in holland i where the record company was ordered to supply a copy of an cd with out protection to this person because she couldn't play it in here player , there are some new protections on some audio cds coming out to stop piracy but the down side is that the disks cant be played on some old equipment Rob Alex Charrett wrote:
Quoting Gemma Peter:My stereo is quite old, have their been recent changes in CD formats that might account for this effect? Copy protection perhaps? Though I don't see why a company would go to the trouble to copy protect one disk of a set and not the other(s). Has anyone else encountered this?I have a feeling some older stereos can't cope with longer CDs (i.e. 80 min ones) and will refuse to play them outright. Do you find this problem occours particularly with longer CDs such as compilation albums?
