It had a spell checker when it was proprietary, someone elses.

When the rewrite came, the change of licence killed the spell checker,
because Netscape didn't own it.

I've aways had a spell checker in Mozilla, as the Mozdev people filled
the gap with an ispell plug-in almost instantly, it merely required a
second download.

I hardly ever remember to use it, I probably ought to make it automatic,
but enough stuff happens automatically when I send an email already.

We've had this discussion before I think.
