That's because Simon is sad.

As far as I know Linus hasn't delegated permission for us to have a
genuine mission statement, so the goal remains "total world domination",
not out of some misguided megalomania, nor for profit, or personal gain,
but "just for fun".

If it isn't fun, you aren't doing it right.
