[LUG] Cheap Linux friendly ADSL provider?

My first post on this list, but I have a serious question to ask ...

I'm going to be moving to Plymouth (From Torrington) in September to
start a degree at the university; To cut a long story short, I got
turned down on a place in the halls of residence and thus the Internet
connections ( I need a decent connection to update my Debian sid box :))
they offer; but thankfully I think I've found some sweet private
accommodation (they offer a telephone line for voice or data in each
room :)).

All I need now is an ADSL provider that fits the following:

- - Non intrusive; I want them to send me the stuff I need and let me get
on with it.
- - Linux friendly; Providers that need client software need not apply.
- - Cheap; I'm a student after all, I want as low a setup fee and monthly
rate as possible, a flexible contract would also be nice so I don't pay
for the months in the summer period when I won't be there (hopefully).

Any suggestions, experiences etc will be gratefully received :).

Cheers,

Daniel Palmer
