yes.  My daughter brought in a Konica camera and I did that and 
was deeply impressed, then I looked at this very new Sony and 
decided it is a really nice gadget.  However if it doesn't talk 
to my network in some way I may have to take it back and have 
soemthing cheaper and with a worse lens - which is the real 
excuse for choosing it.

It doesn't seem to talk USB-storage, but the PTP (picture 
transfer protocol) looked entirely usable, until the second day.

Maybe I'll reboot the laptop and see what happens, but I can't 
be doing that every week.
