[LUG] Apt4rpm and "Broken" files

I've been trying Apt4rpm via Synaptic but it won't let
me download because of a "broken" Sane scanner
	package.

The Sane package isn't really broken (it works fine).
It just isn't on the rpm database because the only
backend I could find for my scanner was in source code.

Telling Synaptic to keep the "broken package" still won't
let me proceed and there's no man page for apt4rpm.

Anyone know how to get apt4rpm to realise Sane exists?
