[LUG] (slightly OT) Sat. and wireless broadband

Hey

As pretty much everyone on here is well aware broadband is not readily
available in Cornwall at the moment. So once again I have started looking
into Satellite broadband. I've also, just recently come across the various
companie who are starting up community based broadband projects, which is a
really nice idea.

Satellite and wireless broadband is still something of a mystery to me
however, and I really have no idea about the compnies involved in it. So I
was wondering if anyone on here has any experience in the matter and could
point me at one of the better companies or something. I'm ideally looking for
2 way with linux compatability and static IP.

I found what seems to be a good list over at the Rabbit-broadband* page but I
really don't know which of the companies are worthwhile!

http://www.rabbit-broadband.org.uk/solutions/index.asp

	Any help appreciated.

		Dan

*Rabbit-broadband being a rather cool initiative to subsidise rural companies
to get broadband where ADSL isn't available.
