That can be fixed by enabling SCSI emulation for that drive.
Depending on which boot loader you're using you just need to pass the 
option to the kernel.

LILO
add "hdc=ide-scsi" to your "append" line in /etc/lilo.conf.

GRUB
add "hdc=ide-scsi" to your "kernel" line in /boot/grub/menu.lst.
