Come on give the guy a clue what the buffers do - otherwise
he'll be putting his linux box between him and the next run away

Most of free memory is usually full with file system cache, so
that rather than reading a file from disk (very slow, ~10
milliseconds seek at least), it can use the copy in memory
(probably tens of microseconds).

I think we should campaign to do away with virtual memory - it
has outlived it's usefulness ;-)
