distro that will install over a serial port.

Oh, you mean on *intel* hardware...

I would imagine you can hack about with a distro to make the install 
kernel have support for a console on serial port.  Not sure how that'd 
work with things like the virtual terminals that most install programs 
seem to set up for other info, shells, etc.

I'm sure I remember reading the kernel docs about serial consoles a
while ago and I *think* that the kernel will direct all output to the
ttyS0/COM1 if there is no graphics adapter present in the system.
