I had to fix a website that was broken in PHP for work.

I bought and read ``Programming PHP'' by Rasmus Lerdorf and was able to
sort it out without any issues. I therefore recommend this publication.

Syntactically, it shares the common elements of all popular scripting
languages. Someone with elementary C would pick it up in about half an
hour. Database integration is a breeze, a few other nice treats in there.
