Re: [LUG] hacked woes

Quoting Theo Zourzouvillys <theo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
(quoting theo cos I've deleted origional, reply it to origional post)

Is it Outlook that runs macros or is it the word docs
that do it.
(sorry for asking a windows question)

Disable word macros, and upgrade to office service pack (or is it service
release?) 2. You can then disable HTML emails in outlook for all people who
arn't in yuor contact list, this vastly improves outlooks security.

When I connect to the internet (via my linux box),
which files do I need to modify to stop other people
on the internet from accessing my network services (it
should make my linux box 99.9% secure when on the
internet right?).

Run a personal filewall on your windows box, that way trojans and key loggers
cna't phone home, or be connected to.

Is there a decent linux alternative to
Dreamweaver(only real reason why I still use windows).

I use ultraedit for windows, a text editor, it's wonderful. Runs under WINE
too.

HTH
