[LUG] Partitioning (cfdisk)



I partitioned a small hdd using cfdisk.   Why are the partitions called hda5, 
hda6 and hda7 (and not hda1, hda2 and hda3).

Also, hda6 is swap space.   How easy is it to remove hda7 and merge it with 
hda5.
