A network file system will do fine if security isn't an issue.
That's a theme on which there are, of course, several variants.

Two machines right next to each other.
This is the tricky time while one still depends on one OS for some things, 
while doing all the rest on another.

VNC has its role, but doesn't transfer clipboard info.
