I dunno :)  I can only presume it's handled by the DB backend, so
MySQL in my case, or dbm if you've gone that route.  To be honest
it wasn't something I cared about that much as there are only 3
people accessing it :)

The problem comes with two people editting the same document and how
you handle conflicts, if they are handled at all.

Wikis I have seen:
If two or more people have a document open then the first one to 
return an update locks out the rest.  I havn't yet seen a wiki which 
attempts a more fine grained resolution of conflicts, although I would 
be very interested if anyone knows of one.
