[LUG] CD Writers

Hi,

Has anyone any idea how I can get that CW rewriter working pls?

Summary - 
CD-RW is hdc (no toher CD drive in the machine.

Adding "append = ide-scsi" to lilo resulted in 2 entries for the the drive in 
the hardware list and me being unable to open the drive as "you do not have 
permission to access that device" - even as root.

Seperately, I installed cdrecord etc and gcombust from my Mandrake 8.0 cd's 
and do not seem able to select files to transfer to the cd. Will this be ok 
once I have the drive running or have I missed some vital component?
