[LUG] Sony Viao Laptop & Linux

Hi all,

I'm planning on buying a Sony Vaio GRX616SP laptop

Are Sony Vaio's generally Linux friendly?
Has anybody got one?
Is it easy enough to carve off a section of the hard drive for Linux?

Any other hints & tips (this will be my first Linux laptop,
and the first time in ages I will run a Linux/Windows dual boot).
