| I take it you mean the new Beta release called "Severn"? (Named after the
| river between Bristol and Wales maybe?)
|
| Anyway...nope, not tried it yet, I'm still happy with 7.3
|
| However when it gets released (Either as Redhat 9.1 or 10) It shall be
| heading to a linux box near me - it does look good.

| spaghetti cable cause packet failure

I have installed and run RedHat 9 for a little while.. In all honesty I
am disapointed... It was very slow, took all the RAM and CPU available
even filled the swap... After 30 mins I was able to get myself logged in
(30 mins after entering username/password) to a useable state.

Finally I got bored of waiting for the system and reverted to RedHat 8.0
(much faster)

I think that perhaps RedHat released this a little too quick, they also
seem to be trying to get ".0" releases out of the door faster than we
can buy and eval them.

Note to redhat: Please can you iron out 8.0 to 8.1 before trying to
release 9.0 ? Thanks

Sorry if this has put anyone off, but I always tend to give an honest
opinion of my findings...

Neil
