To be honest disabling kuzdu is one of the first things I do after installing Red Hat. It's a nice idea, but on my box I'm a bit of a control freak and don't like it getting ideas above it's station. I'm not sure how to disable it apart from the hard way with Mandrake. try running ntsysv and see if that does anything. if it does, you can deselect kudzu. else: (as root) obtain your runlevel: # runlevel N 3 (it's likely to be 3 or 5) then disable kudzu starting in this runlevel: # rm /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S*kudzu (rc5.d if you are using runlevel 5) Then just set your printer up using printtool (or the mandrake equivalent), and it shouldn't muck things about for you.
