Hmm...be advised that whilst I have had 2.4.0-pre11 running at home for some
time now, I have never been able to get 2.4.0 to run on my work PC. I too
have just tried the 'official' version, but it still bombs out. Gets to the
PCI probing and then OOPS.  Kernel 2.2.18 (and all the others I've used
before) work fine on the PC. Mind you it is an old Apricot LS550 - P133,
128MB, 6GB disk.

I'll see if I can investigate this a bit further, unless anyone has any
obvious ideas? Wonder if some of the utils (pci_utils?) needs upgrading? The
PC currently runs RedHat7.
