Nope - I have a Demon residential dial up and RH 6.1

I seem to remember Netscape Messenger can claim it hasn't downloaded an
attachment, when it has but is objecting to something else (Try saving
it rather than opening it).

Are you using the Demon SMTP kickbacks or POP3? Some POP3 clients can be
configured to leave big messages behind to save time and phone bills.
