Have you told the computer to get its DNS settings through the
router (not sure where the setting for that is in Mandrake though,
sorry.

That seemed to do the trick on tues when I set up my new broadband
connection.

you might also need to tell the computer that the default gatewal is the
ip address of the router (probably whatever the private subnet you are
using is, with a 1 at the end.).
